Puerto Rican actor Amaury Nolasco, best known for his role as Fernando Sucre on “Prison Break”, will be starring in ABC’s latest comedy “Work It”…as a woman.
The star will play Angel Ortiz, a man, who must cross-dress in order to get a job as a pharmaceutical representative. Nolasco will be starring alongside actor Koldyke, who will play the actor’s friend in the series. In a recent promotional poster released by the network, the two actors are shown using urinals while in drag.
The series centers on the two friends’ inability to find work, that is, until they dress as females and land positions in pharmaceutical sales. The network considers the comedy high concept, describing it on their site as a “smart, funny and relevant look at male and female relationships at work, at home and socially”.
Joining Koldyke and Nolasco will be actors Beth Lacke, John Caparulo, Rebecca Mader, and Kate Reinders, among others. The series is set to premiere on January 3, during the 2012 midseason.
