Thursday was Latin music’s biggest night however fashion at the 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards was seriously lacking. I notice a lot of lace and overly risqué gowns this year. Honestly this was not one of my favorite carpets to cover because I really wanted to see some classy evening dresses; maybe some tailor jumpsuits or some amazing couture gowns on my Latina sistas.
LatinTRENDS held a media industry cocktail mixer on Wednesday to celebrate the November issue at the legendary Copacabana. Guests were invited to preview the magazine which features music duo Chino y Nacho, talk to the editorial team and learn about future events. View images from the night below.

I am totally hooked on daytime talk show The Real. Former cover model Adrienne Bailon is one of the lovely ladies on the show and she is doing such an awesome job. She is outspoken, charismatic, funny and rockin her latina curvas.
She is flawless on the show and totally representing young Latinas. Adrienne dances her way onto the stage every episode and she might be the “small” one but her precense packs a good punch.
Here are some of my faviote looks so far. Tune in and support. Check your local listing for air times.
Jennifer Lopez fans are looking to rename Blackrock Avenue in the Bronx to Jennifer Lopez Way. The street is close to J.Lo’s home growing up in Castle Hill. The petition was started by fan, Edgardo Luis Rivera on Change.org and currently has more than 1,400 signatures.
Rivera will meet with Community Board 9 next month about his cause in hopes to get this approved. According to the Daily News, the city council has been reluctant to name streets after still-living people, though exceptions have been made in the past.

New York Comic Con is the largest pop culture event on the East Coast. Hosting the latest in comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, toys, movies and television. This was the ninth year NYCC has held their convention in the Big Apple. The convention was four days filled with exhibits, special guests, panels, merchandise and a Cosplay competition.
I was fortunate to attend some of the most anticipated panels such as “Game of Thrones,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and “Batman” with Adam West (The Original Batman.)
One of the disappointing aspects of the convention was the different wristbands you had to wait on line for if you wanted to participate in a particular panel. Many of the panels I wanted to attend occurred at the same time or there were not enough wristbands, which was the case for “The Walking Dead” panel. The convention didn’t open until 10 a.m. but all the wristbands were gone by 9 a.m. Even with a press pass I was not eligible to enter. And believe me, I tried everything! But that didn’t damper my “inner nerd” spirit.
This was my first ever NYCC and I am already excited to go back next year to celebrate their tenth anniversary October 8-11 2015. You can view some of my favorite Cosplay costumes in the gallery. Let us know your thoughts if you attended this year and if you will you attend again next year.
What little girl didn’t dream of looking like a Disney princess on her wedding day?
Alfred Angelo Bridal, world’s largest family-owned and operated manufacturer and retailer of bridal gowns introduced their 2015 Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings Dress Collection during Bridal Week. Each dress resembles the dresses of Disney’s iconic princesses with a modern twist. The price range is $999 to $1,899 and come in sizes 0-26W.
The most talked about dress at Bridal Week, taking place in NYC this weekend was Frozen‘s ice queen, Elsa.
But here are the others that ‘WOWED’ the crowd
Models looked like real life Barbie dolls straight out of the box. From Business Woman Barbie, Roller Skating Barbie (yes she rolled down the runway), Work Out Barbie carrying hand weights, Cowgirl Barbie, Boarding a Plane Barbie with matching carry-on luggage and the list goes on. Take a look at some of the looks.
Let us know in the comment section would you wear any of these pieces in real life?
I had the pleasure of being a guest at Uptown Fashion Week‘s First Plus Size Showcase at Van Cortlandt Park Golf Course. As a fashionable plus size girl I loved and would totally wear 90% of the garments that graced the runway. The 3 indie designers were faboulous and their collections ranged from sophisticated glam to urban chic.

Tracy Reese is one of Michelle Obama‘s favorite designers. She wore a Tracy Reese dress for the 2012 DNC Convention speech, “Let Freedom Ring” ceremony and a list of other events. This African American designer from Detroit, Michigan has some amazing quality pieces which I love. Her ready-to-wear line is carried by retailers such as Bloomingdale’s, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Anthropologie, Modcloth, and Nordstrom. Tracy’s flagship stores are available in New York City and Tokyo.
Which look is your favorite?
