Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg created the Latin Media and Entertainment Commission to make New York City the Latin media capital of the world.
Through strategic initiatives and plans, the LMEC is working to:
Promote economic development for Hispanic advertising and new media companies
Create and support events that are an experience and a destination for people around the world
Partner with business and professional associations and educational institutions to develop the media and entertainment workforce |
From theater, to dance, to alternative music, to film, to salsa, to outdoor events, to television, to art and more, our events show a range of styles, genres, talent, richness, and diversity in our Latino communities unlike any other place in the world.
With an economic impact greater than $60 million, these events have proven to draw Latin and non-Latin audiences from all over the world, be a mainstay of the city, and continue to make New York a destination and the Arts capital of the world.
Enjoy the best of Latin culture and entertainment!
