MundoFox is introducing a new comedy series this Sunday August 10th starringRoselyn Sanchez. A special screening took place last night at Fox Studios on 1211 Avenue of the Americas. This intimate setting was the place where the first episode of “Familia en Venta” was viewed.
Roselyn, recently of “Devious Maids” will appear in her first ever Spanish language television series. She will star opposite Carlos Espejel, who plays her husband who when the series begins we learn is a dentist who once worked on Roselyn which led to a marriage of 15 years.
We pick up at a later period where they are getting divorced and selling their home. But the market keeps them from successfully selling the house. As a result they are stuck with each other along with two children, one son who favors ballet, and a daughter, Carmen Aub, who plays drums in her room and finds boyfriends on the net with names like Jota and Zero. This family is truly disfunctional.
And that’s before we meet the dad, who is parading around in his boxers and undershirt, looking ragged, but thinking he is in great shape and appealing. He appears to be senile but when its convenient to him.
The chemistry between Sanchez and Espejel is there from the start and the supporting cast is more than interesting to follow. The cast is reinforced by starsAngie Cepeda and Christian Meier. The writing is refreshing and an example of the evolving quality of Spanish television in the United States.
