I’d like to say that I can understand the motives of the Arizona Immigration Law…but I can’t. America is known for its diversity, yet Arizona contradicts this when they try to pass laws that give them the right to demand papers from a person who doesn’t look “American”?
Does this sound familiar?
Oh yea it does — why not give them a star to wear on their sleeves? I’m sure Hitler would approve.
America is a country who doesn’t have the best history when it comes to racism, and things like this aren’t making their history look any better. Racism? No I just didn’t pull that out of a hat, that’s what this is.
This law attacks the very essence of what America stands for. Everyone should have the right to the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness, I mean we are living in the 21st century, right?
“But they’re stealing our jobs!”
“They’re taking our tax money!”
Who do you think is the one building that fence you were too lazy to build, or the person who’s fixing the landscape to make your backyard look better?
I’m sure that if it was up to those people who do enter this country illegally that they would much rather be with their family in their own country instead of being separated by hundreds of miles because poverty demands it. I’m sure your ancestors would agree to that, because most of the people who do live in this country were once immigrants too.
The United States is made up of many different races, cultures. Why patronize just one race because they want to make a better living for themselves, when they aren’t the only ones coming into this country illegally?
Instead of trying to use racial profiling to try and make this country a better place, we should try and help those in need who don’t have the same opportunities as others.
