LeBron James beat six-time NBA MVP Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s career scoring record on Feb. 7, a record that he held for 39 years. In a game between James’ Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, James finished the game with 38 points on.
He entered the game with 38,352 points, needing 36 to overtake basketball legend, which he did and he now holds the record with 38,388 career points and counting. The Lakers won the game againt Oklahoma with a score of 133-130.
After the historic score. James with a big smile, stretched out his arms and waved them. His predecessor, Abdul-Jabbar rose from his seat and applauded him. Then James wife, mother and his children came to the court for a ceremony commemorating the milestone.
It was a magical night, full of stars, they were there to witness if James would break the record and the legendary baller, did not disappoint.
Millions if not billions watched throughout the world including his friends, family and many celebrities were there to see history made.
One of those celebrities, sitting courtside was Puerto Rico’s Bad Bunny, like James another global Phenom. After James record breaking shot TV cameras caught the moment when James ran over to hug his good friend Bad Bunny, showing how close the two celebrities are.
They met in Puerto Rico a few years back and have even vacationed together. “You’re the goat. La cabra” Bad Bunny told James. James, laughed and said “La cabra”. See below.
