Green-Wood Cemetary

This Brooklyn burial ground has long been one of the city’s more celebrated offbeat attractions: In the 1860s, it competed with Niagara Falls as the most popular tourist spot in the state. Nowadays, the crowds flock to nearby Prospect Park, but there’s still plenty to see at this space: The cemetery is the final resting place for a plethora of notable New Yorkers, including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Leonard Bernstein and William “Boss” Tweed. It’s also home to one of the highest points in the borough, Battle Hill—from its peak, you can see far-off parts of Brooklyn and lower Manhattan.

EL Coordinador

Part of the 4th Van Lier Young Directors Fellowship

“The Facilitator” takes place in an elevator where four people must deal with the ambition and morals of the others. Shut in the elevator, they experience a collective desperation that results in the discovery of the true personality of each person when their fears and virtues come out to play in this game of survival. This, of course, causes many conflicts and reveals the eternal truths and contradictions about humans. Winning play of the 1993 Best Dramatic Text Award at the VII North American Chilean Institute’s Theater Festival and the 1994 Municipal Award for Literature in Theatre in Santiago, Chile.

Arepera Guacuco

There's plenty of good reviews for this Venezualen hot-spot Arepera Guacuco! If you love arepa sandwiches, try the paisa, simple Venezualen cheese that's similar to mozzarella, jamon y queso, a mariscado (shrimp, squid, mussels in tomato sauce), or even a salchicha (sausage in pink sauce), with prices ranging from $4.50 to $8.

Extra hungry? Arepera Guacuco serves traditional Venezualen plates, prices $10-$13, of asopados de mariscos, a seafood mix with soupy rice, or a carite frito, grilled king fish, with a touch of garlic, rice and a choise of salad or sweet plantains.
