Teatro stage Fest – June 1-25 2012
Teatro Stage Fest brings together spoken word, poetry, workshops, music, dance, and plays from New York and international companies. This year’s program includes a staged reading of the Buenos Aires hit The Coleman Family Omission, a drama about one family’s turn from dialogue to violence. Following the reading, there will be a dialogue between the audience and the playwright Claudio Tolcachir.

Born in Bogota, Colombia, Edmar Castaneda moved in 1994 to the United States and was quickly recognized for his unique sound. Castaneda cross-polinates flamenco, bebop and traditional Colombian music.He will be accompanied by Dave Silliman on drums and Shlomi Cohen on soprano saxophone.
This show is part of The River to River Festival happening in Lower Manhattan.

Sebastiao, o homem que bebia querosen (Sebastião, The Man Who Used to Drink Kerosene, directed by Carlosmagno Rodrigues, Brazil, 2007, 11 min.) A post-traumatic existential film.

El Cant Dels Ocells. (Birdsongs.) Serra recasts the story of the Magi as an elemental epic of man simultaneously lost and found in the uncanny beauty of nature.
Preceded by Ahend nde sapukai (I Hear your Scream) At dawn, a man watches the horizon as he stands near his wooden house that dominates the landscape. After a few moments, he returns to his simple dwelling and a short while later a small funeral procession emerges.
Performance by Peruvian experimental musician Efraín Rozas.
