Bruno Mars is collaborating with Target to deliver a special deluxe edition of his latest album, “Unorthodox Jukebox”.
The singer’s sophomore album takes a departure from Mars’ typical musical styling. His songs range from old rock, reminiscent of The Police, to 1920’s jazz. In an interview with Billboard, Mars stated, “This album represents my freedom…I listen to a lot of music, and I want to have the freedom and luxury to walk into a studio and say, ‘Today I want to do a hip-hop, R&B, soul or rock record’.” The album’s released singles have been received positively by Mars’ fans, with his lead single “Locked Out of Heaven” placing the top-10 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
In a press release statement, Target’s vice president of entertainment, John Butcher, stated, “Bruno Mars is a creative force and his new album is another exciting example of his tremendous talent and versatility…Target’s exclusive partnership offered him room to develop additional new content and play with remixes of existing songs – which we know his fans and our guests will love.”
Target’s special edition of the album will include five bonus tracks including “Old & Crazy”, which features Esperanza Spalding, two demo versions of “Young Girls” and “Gorilla”, and remixes of “Moonshine” and the album’s leading single, “Locked Out of Heaven”.
“Unorthodox Jukebox” is set to release on December 11. Preorders are available at Target.com/ExclusiveArtists. Get your copy before you get locked out of Bruno Mar’s musical heaven!
