Dominican singer/songwriter SOHANNY has sparked a major buzz with her new smash single, “No Es Normal.” The infectious “urban merengue” banger was produced by Richy Peña, who is best known for his Grammy award-winning work on Chino y Nacho’s mega hit of 2010, “Mi Nina Bonita.” Also featured on the single is hot up-and-coming artist, Fuego. “My sound can best be described as ‘tropical urban’ with influences coming not only from the Caribbean, but also from Latin America and the US, where I spent my later years growing up. Specifically, the Tropical Latin radio charts have been impacted greatly by “No Es Normal” which, as of today, has reached #12 on the Mediabase Tropical Latin charts (greatest gainer) and #39 on Nielsen/BDS Tropical Latin charts all within 4 weeks of its release. This feat is quite amazing in and of itself, but all signs are pointing to something in the not so distant future – that this record will undoubtedly reach the very top. This impressive chart activity has placed Sohanny in the unique position of being the only female artist to chart in the Top 40 on the Nielsen/BDS Tropical Latin Chart and the only female artist to chart in the Top 20 on the Mediabase Tropical Latin chart.
