Actress Eva Longoria, known widely for her charitable efforts, was the honorary chairwoman of the Noble Gift Gala in London. The event was held in recognition of the humanitarianism of many celebrities and well known public figures.
Among those honored was Mariah Carey for her efforts to help children in need around the globe. Longoria, alongside singer Jermaine Jackson, paid tribute to the pop star. Carey later tweeted to Longoria and wrote, “You’re a wonderful humanitarian and a beautiful person. Thank you so much for your kind words at the charity event last night.”
Others recognized at the event included socialites Petra and Tamara Ecclestone, and ex supermodel Jerry Hall. Leona Lewis also performed at the gala.
Any proceeds from the event went to benefit The Eva Longoria Fund, which the “Desperate Housewives” star set up to provide aid for disadvantaged children with health problems and others in the Latino community.
