You’ve probably been there – every fiber of your being wants to be on vacation, but your bank account and/or work schedule disagree. If you can’t go off to surf in California or sip piña coladas in Punta Cana, then how do you unwind?
It may be impossible to take a vacation right now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t bring the vacation to you. There are various ways to feel as though you’ve traveled elsewhere.
– Visit a spa you’ve never been to and try a new massage. Escaping your comfort zone is often a great way to distance yourself from routine.
– Eat exotic food. Explore some of the restaurant you’ve heard a lot about but never had the courage to try. Shock not just yourself, but your taste buds while you’re at it!
– From time to time, check out the newest exhibitions at your favorite museum. Learning about culture will make you feel as though you’re there, wherever there may be.
– Get active! Whether it’s a foreign form of yoga, mediation or anything else you have in mind, explore the activities that other cultures practice.
Don’t be afraid to try new things. What helps you feel as though you’ve traveled elsewhere?
