Despite rumors circulating around that she was not going to reappear as a judge on Fox’s American Idol, Jennifer Lopez will in fact be returning to the singing competition for its 11th season and will be sitting alongside fellow judges Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson. Rumors began after the show’s finale when Lopez was reportedly the only judge holding out on inking another season deal to return.
It took Lopez, 41, sometime to decide on whether or not she would return to the show because she admitted candidly that she was “on the fence” about returning for a second season. During a interview with BBC1’s Scott Mills, Lopez revealed how while she “had an amazing time doing it and I loved it, but I have a lot of other things happening, and it’s going to come down to me making a choice of what I want to do for next year.”
Having side projects is exact new for Lopez. During her stint as judge on A.I, she released an anticipated and well-received album entitled, Love? which included her controversial dance-hit On The Floor and with Papi being its next single to come off the album. However, albums or film projects weren’t the only things keeping Lopez from signing on to judge A.I again but her very own reality show.
Keeping Lopez busy at the moment is the filming of her own reality television show entitled Q’Vival!: The Chosen which is described as a singing competition for Latin America with her husband and Latin musical star Marc Anthony. Well, the filming of her own reality show may not be causing too much conflict since Lopez is officially returning to the judges’ seat for American Idol’s 11th season, and may be earning some extra income since she was reported to have earned 12 million for her first season stint as judge.
Auditions for American Idol’s 11th season is currently underway and will be stopping in Pittsburgh on July 15th so expect to see Lopez sitting there and judging you if you happen to go and you think you got what it takes to be our next Idol.
