Mario Lopez is being sued for more than $50,000 by Philadelphia promoter Robert “Bobby” Capone who claims Lopez stood him up. Capone claims Lopez was scheduled to host an event on Oct. 27, 2012, at The Roxy and Penn’s Landing Caterers for a $15,000 fee.
“Pursuant to the agreement, the Plaintiff paid to the defendant an advance of $8,000 on or about July 16, 2012,” the lawsuit states. “On or about October 10, 2012 the Plaintiff was advised by, the defendant and/or his representative that the defendant would not be honoring the aforesaid agreement with the plaintiff because of ‘new commitments’ that have ‘just arose’,” the lawsuit continues. The lawsuit filed on March 28, 2013 claims the Extra host breached the contract for an illegitimate reason “to reap temporary financial gain and notoriety at the expense of the Plaintiff.” Capone is suing Lopez for consumer fraud, bad faith dealing, breach of contract and fraud in the inducement.
Lopez has not released a statement.
