On Sunday Shakira took Baby Milan to his first outing since his birth on January 22nd to to Camp Nou, home of the FC Barcelona soccer team. The Colombian singer tweeted a picture at the stadium of herself with baby Milan in a baby carrier with Pique’s team number three and team colors. The picture alone received more than 6,000 retweets by fans. But today those same fans are calling the new parents irresponsible. Yesterday Shakira tweeted her and Pique driving leaving the stadium without the child in a car seat.The image sparked outrage on Twitter and was shared/re tweeted among Shakira fans Monday where the photo no longer exists on Shakira’s Twitter feed. Shakira was seen driving, while Piqué carried what looked like Milan in his lap in the front seat.
It is unknown if Pique was using a seat belt or if the baby was out of its car seat. As in the United States, Spanish laws establishes children under 2 years of age should always be secured in a car seat until turning of age (depending on state) to be allowed in the car’s front area.
Milan is the couple’s first son and is name “means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification,” Shakira said in a press release.
