Shakira announced recently she will be returning to NBC’s “The Voice” for its sixth season. On the Colombian superstar’s Facebook page she posted pictures on set of “The Voice” with her 5-months-old baby Milan stating: “Mommy thanks for bringing me to The Voice, so fun!! Though your fellow coaches [referring her fellow on-set rivals singers Usher, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine] are a doubtful influence on me, I’m ready for season 6″, the message said.
The 36-year-old singer decided to take a break from her role as a mentor to focus Milan and recording her new album.
“I’m not going to be able to do next season because I have to get back to my motherhood and also get back to the studio, the recording studio, to finish my album, the one that I started working on before I had to deliver a baby and before I took this gig with The Voice“, she told US Magazine of her decision to leave the show after just one season.
Though Shaki did not have any members from Team Shakira in the finale the show has made her more popular than ever. According to Hollywood Reporter music editor and TV communications expert Shirley Halperin, Shakira was one the most beloved judges of “The Voice.” “The program has been a very important platform for her“, the journalist said. Halperin also told the Colombian newspaper El Espectador Shakira has been known in the United States through many years, her media presence was limited to music and that she only appeared in the news when publishing a new album.
Season 4 of “The Voice” came to an end on Tuesday night, when contestant Danielle Bradbery, the youngest contestant to win, landed first place in the competition. Her mentor country singer Blake Shelton was the winning coach for the third consecutive season.
