Zoé’s new album MTV Unplugged/Música de Fondo debuted # 1 on the Mexican digital sales charts after only 24 hours of its release, and now it achieves the group’s highest ranking in the US: Top 7 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart and Top 16 on its Current Latin Albums chart (overall).
The acoustic concert was recorded live in Mexico City. The band performed for a selected group of fans, who enjoyed “Soñé” the first single of the album, “Labios Rotos,” a song written especially for the unplugged as well as hits like “Dead,” “Luna,” “Vía Láctea,” “No me destruyas,” “Sombras,” “Veneno,” “Poli” and “Love” among others, all revamped with new arrangements. They also had stellar musical collaborations with legendary Spanish rocker Enrique Bunbury and singer Adrian Dargelos, from the band, Babasónicos. Other guest stars were multi-instrumentalist Chetes and Hello Seahorse’s singer Lo Blondo, as well as Yamil Rezc (producer of Hello Seahorse!), Andrés Sanchez (Sanchez Dub) and produced by an old friend of the group, Phil Vinall, who accompanied the group throughout the show.
The band was recently in Los Angeles where they previewed a documentary titled “Construyendo música de Fondo” and did a signing at the Montalban Theatre where hundreds of fans gathered for a once in a life time experience with their idols. The next day, Zoé headed to San Diego to greet their fans during a successful in-store. With the recent broadcast of the MTV Unplugged throughout the U.S. and Latin America, Zoé became one of the most talked about topics on twitter around the world.
Zoé will begin their upcoming tour in August and dates will be announced next week.
