Miami Heat forward LeBron James and his teammates became internet sensations last week with their “Harlem Shake” video, which can be viewed below.
With the victory, Miami, which entered Sunday 0-2 vs. New York this season, increased its winning streak to 14 games. The Knicks got a game-high 32 points from Carmelo Anthony but struggled down the stretch, getting outscored by the Heat 26-16 in the fourth quarter.
New York’s loss places it 7 1/2 games behind the No. 1-seeded Heat in the Eastern Conference standings. Losers of six out of their last 10 games, the Knicks are seeded third in the conference, also trailing the 38-22 Indiana Pacers.
For the Heat, Sunday’s triumph over the Knicks brought the week to an appropriate conclusion. As their win total kept surging last week, the defending NBA champions—who’ve not tasted defeat since Feb. 1—contributed to the “Harlem Shake” internet meme with a 56-second video that has tallied nearly 26 million views on YouTube.
