There’s one very simple question to ask
yourself, if you really want to know:
If there were only 2 jobs on this earth,
hunters vs farmers, which one would you
choose to be?
To help the world understand Entrepreneurs:
Entrepreneurs are born hunters.
Everyone else is born farmers.
Hunters and farmers require two completley
different skill sets.
They’re two very different people. But when
we think about this, the world needs both:
hunters and farmers.
After all, we can’t live on just meat…we need
a healthy balance of both. What good is a
juicy steak without that baked potato?
Let’s look at Hunters vs Farmers
Farmers
A Farm Is Like An Office
Farmers all work together at the farm. Bob
& Sally will be planting the seeds, John will
be plowing.
Farmers can share jobs calmly, and quietly.
Farmers can’t farm with hunters, the hunters
will create havoc in their farm.
Light, Social Talk
Farmers like small talk, casual conversation,
and lot’s of it. They tend to stay away from
deeper, more complicated issues.
Risk, what’s that?
Farmers don’t like to fail.
If they must fail, they like to predict that
failure.
They like predictable success.
Predictability, they love it!
Crisis? Run for Shelter!!!
When the frost all of a sudden comes heavy
in Florida, the farmers go into absolute panic.
It’s almost like they roll over and die at any
possible challenge headed their way.
“Ahh! The world will run out of oranges!”
they say.
Measurable Success
Farmers plant their crops during the same time
every year. They pick those crops at the same
time every year.
They like to know exactly how many crops they’ll
pick. If the number goes up, the farmer is
scared he won’t sell it all.
If the number goes down, he’s scared he won’t
make enough money.
On to the Hunters..finally!
Hunters
Either in a Pack, or Alone
Hunters travel in small packs or alone. Each
hunter has his own individual job, but the
“pack” all works toward one common goal:
bringing home some dinner. Sometimes, they’ll
hunt by themselves.
Hunters can’t hunt with farmers…farmers will
slow the hunters down.
The Prey
Hunters know what they’re looking for, and
have the ability to spot the perfect prey.
It’s usually prey that is weak or disabled
(same value, lower take down costs).
The smart hunters team up together and take
down the big prey.
On the Hunt
When a hunter is on the hunt, he’s calm..
focused. He’s quietly stalking his victim.
Developing strategies quickly, and
maneuvering to any move the prey makes.
Energy for the Hunt
Hunters have a ton of energy, but only when
they’re hunting. The hunt can last several
days, weeks, or months.
When the hunt is over, they go home to leisure
and share it with their family.
The hunter always knows when it’s time
for another hunt.
He begins to feel restless, irritated, and
needs to channel built up energy.
