Mexican singer Belinda dispelled rumors of an engagement today via Twitter.
Rumors swirled that not only had the star reconciled with her former flame, soccer player Giovanni Dos Santos, over New Years, but that he also popped the question. The star wrote, “The only engagement I have at this moment is to my fans and my music!”
The singer and Dos Santos first met in Barcelona in 2006. They began dating two years later. The relationship continued an on-again then off-again pattern until 2010, when the two decided to end it for good and remain friends. Since then, pictures of the two stars together have circulated, sparking rumors of a newly rekindled romance.
Belinda, however, has been keeping busy with work rather than romance. She further tweeted, “Tomorrow I begin the dubbing for the movie ‘Adventures of Tadeo Jones’, I’m doing Sara’s voice! And the song “Te Voy a Esperar” with @juanmagan will also be the main theme!”
Fans of the singer may not have a wedding to look forward to, but the star has a lot in store for this year.
