Babasónicos are back in NYC for their long awaited concert at HighLine Ballroom, for Argentine Independence Day. The band, the name being a mix of Indian guru Sai Baba and The Jetsons (Los Supersónicos), emerged in the Argentine rock scene in the late 80s, mid 90s. They didn’t catch the fans’ ears right away, but audiences grew to their out-of-the-norm sound.
Want to take a listen for yourself? Part of Coors Light Rock Prendido 2012, Babasónicos will be playing at the HighLine Ballroom May 23rd. The doors open at 6pm, and the show is at 8pm. Tickets are $30 in advanced, $35 at the door. There is limited seating available, with a first come, first seated policy. Open to all ages.
