According to her make-up artist, Wendi Lyn Avignone, Dania Ramirez has been cast in the expected reboot of 70’s classic Charlie’s Angels. Taking to her tweeter Avignone posted, “Dania and I worked together on @Heroes and @Entourage…here we r “Charlies Angels” :)” encouraging the idea that Ramirez has taken a spot within the trio of Charlie’s Angels. However, the tweet was later removed.
There has been no official word if Ramirez is in fact slated to take on an Angel mantle and report in to a speaker box, but according to casting details on one of the Angels, Ramirez would be a good fit. One of the Charlie’s expected Angel’s is named Marisa Valdez, a buff woman with a fondness for weapons while being a neat freak/video gamer who happens to be a former marine. Hoo-rah!
Since starring as super-powered Latina in both X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) as mutant finding Callisto and in NBC’s recent cancelled hit series Heroes as death-by-stare Maya Herrera, Ramirez has been gracing HBO in The Sopranos as Blanca Selgado and Entourage as Alex. Hopefully the rumors are true. It wouldn’t be bad to see a Latina take on the wings left behind by the original Angels.
