It was recently announced that half Dominican, half Puerto Rican actress Denise Vasi will be replacing Stacey Dash in VH1’s “Single Ladies”. The actress first came to prominence after her role as hooker Randi Hubbard in ABC’s “All My Children”.
“Single Ladies” centers around three friends involved in fashion, fame, and music. Vasi will be starring as Raquel, a savvy business woman, in the shows second season.
The show’s producers had nothing but good things to say about the actress. In a recent statement, the network’s EVP of original production and programming, said “It was a rare and wonderful moment during the audition when everyone in the room immediately knew we had found our Raquel…[her] beauty, style, grace and humor leap from the screen.” Hollywood mogul Queen Latifah, producer of the series, claimed Vasi was the perfect addition to the show. She stated, “She is bringing a fun, new element to the show.”
The second season of “Single Ladies” begins production in January. It will be set to premiere in early summer 2012.
