Target presents Festival People En Español!
2013 marks the second year for the festival. The weekend long party is going down at the end of the summer—Labor Day, August 31st – September 1st, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
The festival, which celebrates the Latin culture as explored through arts and entertainment, will include an array of free day-time activities and evening music concerts.
While the sun is shining, The Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center will open it’s doors to the public. Daytime activities include: Q&A sessions & lectures on everything from fashion to wellness, celebrity meet and greets, and on-site product sampling. Basically you can meet famous folk and grab free stuff while you’re at it.
Then ticket holders (available at Ticketmaster starting at $60) will head over to the Alamodome for good ol’ concert enjoyment. Cuban-American music producing powerhouse Emilio Estafan is the Wizard behind the curtain of the event; he knows what the public wants and the line-up proves it.
Scheduled to grace the public with their presence are Mexican singer and international superstar Alejandro Fernandez; Award winning and chart topping Puerto Rican reggaeton duo, Wisin y Yandel; singer, songwriter and actress Demi Lovato; award-winning singer/songwriter JenCarlos Canela; Texas native Mexican-American Tejano musician Bobby Pullido; and Mexican singer Frankie J.
Night time performers Canela and Pudillo will serve double duty also appearing at the festival’s daytime events. Other participants include Mexican model, singer, actor Rafael Amaya; Venezuelan model and actress Marjorie de Sousa; actor, singer, rapper and dancer Adam Irigoyen, best known as Deuce Martinez on the Disney Channel original series “Shake It Up”; leading journalist and TV host Myrka Dellanos; motivational speaker, columnist, author and radio host Maria Marin; and celebrity trainer Jose Fernandez.
And as if that’s not enough, drumroll….. Cristina
is going to be there!! Remember Cristina? She was the Latina Oprah for a hot minute, and I’m happy to hear she’s back in the game, and using her last name theses days, Cristina Saralegui. I like it.
