It’s very easy for my old eating habits to kick in, so I follow a pretty strict routine,” Lovato told Glam. “I don’t like to call it a diet, because for me it’s medicine. I have a nutritionist who sends me meals wherever I am on the road. This makes everything super simple.

Lovato also said that a big part of loving yourself is taking care of yourself, which was one of the reasons she recently launched the skincare line Devonne by Demi.

I tried to conform to what everyone thinks is beautiful,” Lovato continued. “But my genetics gave me a curvy figure, and I’ve come to understand that in the Latina culture, that is beautiful. I no longer look at my body and think, Oh my gosh, I have such a fat butt. Or, I hate my thighs. On some days I don’t love them. But, you know, that’s one of the things that makes me me.

Selena Gomez, who earlier this year shared her story of her three big big demons Anxiety, Panic Attacks, and Depression, which she feels is a result of Lupus, which she discovered she was suffering from has initiated a quality of life change.

The 24-year old made the decision to cancel her “Revival Tour” to focus on her health and happiness.

“I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best,”

    Selena explained.

A solid year off should be just the tonic to recharge her emotional batteries and figure out how she can temper the disease which can lay havoc when you are committing to performance dates.

“I felt unauthentic, unconnected to both myself and my music,”

    Gomez shared.

Selena will be replaced by Demi Lovato for the upcoming Global Citizen Festival on September 24th.

Selena may not be the only celebrity performer to be struggling emotionally. She hopes that her decision may inspire others to take a second look at their careers and the price it exacts from their lives.

“I know I am not alone by sharing this,” Gomez pointed out, “I hope others will be encouraged to address their own issues.”

Demi Lovato accredits Kim Kardashian for embracing her curves!

Demi Lovato has stepped out of her shell recently by accepting, embracing, and loving her body after years of once finding it hard to do so. And according to the singer/actress her struggle with body image has come to an end thanks in part to Kim Kardashian.

In a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Sonny with a Chance star revealed how she has become more confident with her body and overcame her eating disorder in part to her becoming influenced by Kardashian’s very curvy body

When I was growing up, at the kind of age where your body starts changing and you want to be cool, it was in that era of when very, very, very thin people were the popular people in Hollywood, so that’s what I had to look up to,” recalls Lovato.

So it’s no surprise that Lovato’s hit 2015 album is entitled Confident since the Cool for the Summer is showing off just how confident she is by showing that just like a Kardashian she too has curves.

I remember thinking, ‘Wow, that’s so cool!’ And even in a time when I was still struggling with food, I was able to look at Kim’s curves and be like, ‘I should really be proud of my curves,’” Lovato said, describing how she associated beginning to accept her body by seeing how Kim Kardashian seemed to own her own while appearing on her hit TV series Keeping up with the Kardashians.

This Sunday, November 22nd, 2015 at the 2015 American Music Awards there will be a special attraction duet. On one side is iconic singer Alanis Morissette, who will be performing a special rendition of her 1995 hit “You Outta Know.” The other artist will be Demi Lovato, the former Disney star, who is enjoying a renaissance of her own with her October release of “Confident.”

The occasion for this union is the 20th anniversary of Morissette’s award-winning album “Jagged Little Pill.” Alanis has performed on this show four times as well and matched that number in nominations, two of which she collected trophies for in 1997.

Lovato, who has spoken about her struggles with depression, drugs and drugs, and alcohol, as well as an eating disorder, and desire to tackle them in a public spotlight has won over many a fan.

She has also won the respect of music’s elite watchers which is confirmed by this very unique opportunity with an artist like Morissette who has spent her life outside music as a supporter of female empowerment. Her views on spiritual, pschological, and physical wellness are a perfect complement to Demi and should make for a classic set.

Demi Lovato accused of sampling music without permission!

Demi Lovato has recently been accused of steal—sampling from another music act’s song without ever getting their permission.

According to noise pop due Sleigh Bells—Alexis Krauss and Derek Edward Miller—two of their songs titled Infinity Guitars and Riot Rhythms can be heard on Lovato‘s track tilted Stars off of the singers newest album Confident.

@ddlovato Demi Lovato flattered you guys sampled Infinity Guitars & Riot Rhythms for “Stars” but we were not contacted. Gotta clear those” said the music duo in a Tweet on Twitter directed at Lovation.

On Nov. 2, the noise pop musical duo of Alexis Krauss and Derek Edward Miller, famously known as Sleigh Bells, tweeted, “.@ddlovato Demi Lovato flattered you guys sampled Infinity Guitars & Riot Rhythm for “Stars” but we were not contacted. Gotta clear those.”

Despite the claims of Sleigh Bells, producers Carl Falk and Rami—the production team behind Lovato’s latest album—have denied their allegations in their own released statement.

We did not use any samples in Demi Lovato’s song ‘Stars.’ Demi was also not involved with the production. She only wrote top line,” Both Falk and Rami also have writing credits on the track in question as well.

And in their own response to the production team, a representative for Sleigh Bells has confirmed that the band will take legal action for the illegal—alleged—sampling.

I can confirm that the band feels their music has been sampled without proper clearance and are seeking all available remedies with [Lovato’s label] Island Records,” said the representative.

Well, until sampling matter is settled you can soon catch Lovato who is set to go on a tour along with singer and actor Nick Jonas in their The Future Now tour which is set to kick off on June 24th in Florida. This will mark the pair’s sixth tour together, the first one starting back in 2008 when Lovato opened for the Jonas Brothers in their Burnin’ Up tour.

2015 Premios Billboard de la Musica Latina - Season 2015

The Latin market has a new award show coming October 8th in Los Angeles. The first ever Latin American Music Awards has arrived. Since these awards are done through fans who interact with music through various social platforms from streaming to airplay, its not surprising that an Urban artist leads the list of nominations.

Nicky Jam continues his career rebirth in style with six nominations which lead an impressive list of artists. Jam is still enjoying the run of “El Perdón ” which features Enrique Iglesias, who has five nominations of his own. Perdon is now enjoying its twenty-sixth week in the top spot, passing Shakira and Alexandro Sanz 2005 hit “La Tortura” for second longest running number one song.

Nicky’s response to the hit that reached the top spot on February 15th,

“I dont believe it yet. It’s hard to digest.”

Jam is up for artist of the year, favorite streaming song, and song of the year. J. Balvin, those famous snubbing of Donald Trump, launched him into mainstream news, is enjoying a classic year. Balvin is going for new artist of the year and favorite male artist- urban among others revolving around his hit “Ay Vamos.” Romeo Santos, Mana, and Calibre 50 have four each.

There is also a favorite crossover category where Demi Lovato is a contender while Selena Gomez is nominated for favorite dance song. This show, which will be presented by Telemundo, is modeled after the American Music Awards and should be quite a unique event.

Demi Lovato falls while performing newest song

Demi Lovato’s summer is starting off with some and highs and some dead dropping. While out prompting her latest hit “Cool for the Summer” which is off of her yet untitled and soon-to-be-released album and has recently hit #1 on Itunes, Lovato fell on stage while performing her song about a wild summer romance.

On Sunday, during Independence Day weekend, while at an event in held on the roof of Los Angeles’s WaterMarke tower the former-Disney star nearly fell into a pool while performing on a stage built over it.

While jumping around and celebrating both the start of the summer as well as her single “Cool for the Summer” the singer nearly got soaked while performing the song. Instead, she just fell and face-planted the stage before the audience—and the world itself thanks to phone cameras and social media—while performing her latest pop hit.

#NOTCoolForTheSummer #F*ckIt,” tweeted Lovato on her Twitter along with the video and added, “Well… It’s not a tour without busting ass!!!!!!

But the fall didn’t stop Lovato. Getting back up on her feet, Lovato continued her performance and ended up jumping into the pool on her own accord.

Demi Lovato Campaigns Mental Health Awareness As Latinos Fall Short Seeking Help

    Demi Lovato

It is huge that the megastar Demi Lovato has come out to speak about mental health awareness, especially when the majority of Latinos don’t seek help from a mental health professional.

Lovato, who is known for being upfront with her struggles with being bullied when she was a child, bulimia, drug addiction and being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, is now an advocate for mental health awareness.

“Yeah, I’ve been very open about my story because I know that the more honest and open that I am the more people that I’m going to reach,” says Lovato on the “Today Show”.

“Growing up, I felt very, very depressed,” says the chart-topping singer to the Associated Press. “Even though I was playing concerts and living out my dream, I couldn’t tell you why I was upset.”

Lovato, who is encouraging others to tell their stories on mental health, joined a new campaign called “Be Vocal: Speak Up for Mental Health” with a pharmaceutical company, the National Alliance on Mental Illness and other mental-health advocacy groups. The campaign aims to develop better treatment options and abolish the negative connotation of the word mental illness.

Because of that stigma the Latino community, unfortunately, falls short when looking for help from a mental health professional. According to a report by the American Psychiatric Association’s Office of Minority and National Affairs, only 1 in 11 Hispanics contact a mental health specialist for help.

The AP reports that Lovato, whose father is of Mexican and Spanish descent, was actually relieved when she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which is a chemical imbalance that creates mood swings ranging from depressive lows to manic highs.

“I remember smiling and thinking great, OK, so there’s not anything wrong with me as a person,” she said. “It’s actually just a condition that I have and I can do something to fix it. I don’t have to be like this forever.”

Demi Takes A Stand “Really Don’t Care”

    demi lovato

Demi Lovato is in a “Really Don’t Care” mode when it comes to defending her family.

This past weekend, Demi’s little sister Madison De La Garza, decided to post on Twitter mini clips of herself preparing dishes. What’s the harm you ask? Well you would think fans of Demi would embrace her skills in the kitchen, ask her for recipes etc. but fans of Demi were the least supportive. Making fun of her, calling her unflattering names, and teasing her.

In the midst of her tour Demi put a stop to this. She made it known she does not tolerate bullying to her family or anyone.

For anyone telling me to ‘chill’… The impact bullies have over the Internet can lead people to suicide,” she tweeted on Sunday. “I can handle bullshit. But do NOT f*** with my baby sister.”

She continued, “I’m all for peace and spreading love UNTIL you go after a 12 YEAR OLD who did NOTHING to you. So disappointed that after all the conversation about cyber-bulling in this world that people would continue to do this to others. @Maddielovesyou1 you are BEAUTIFUL and the most precious little angel in my life and I will always protect you. I LOVE YOU.”

She then continued to add, “Physical disabilities are NOTHING to joke about. SEVERE SCOLIOSIS IS NOTHING TO MAKE FUN OF.”

Demi Lovato prompted her fans to start tweeting the hashtags #MADISONISBEAUTIFUL #FeelBetterMaddie, which quickly started trending worldwide.

Bringing Madison to tears she wrote “I’m speechless… I love y’all so much… Thank you,”

*Be Aware of What Your Kids are Doing Online
Talk with your kids about cyberbullying and other online issues regularly. Help them be smart about what they post or say. Tell them not to share anything that could hurt or embarrass themselves or others. Once something is posted, it is out of their control whether someone else will forward it.
