Actress Demi Lovato’s latest philanthropic endeavor involves homeless teens and jeans. The star has joined forces once again with DoSomething.org in their latest campaign, “Teen for Jeans”.
In a recent Public Service Announcement, the star says, “I’m donating my jeans. Clean up your closet and donate yours too.” The campaign focuses on homelessness among U.S. teens. Lovato provides an alarming statistic in the commercial, informing viewers that 2 million teens are left on the streets at night without shelter.
Lovato has been active in helping the youth as of late. The star recently went back to the treatment facility she frequented for substance abuse and eating disorders to speak to the young women still struggling with their “inner demons”. The singer even took to her twitter to show her support, writing, “Please say a prayer for all of those struggling with eating disorders, self harm, mood disorders, and substance abuse.”
Looks like Lovato may be nominated once again as the organization’s “Most Involved Celebrities”.
