Half Mexican singer Jasmine Villegas takes a stroll down memory lane in her latest music video, “Official Angel”.
The video is a compilation of home videos from the singer’s childhood. One particular scene in the production that seems to have many fans buzzing is a clip of the star singing “A Whole New World”, where her incredible vocal talent shines through.
The singer, 18, was first discovered by chance. According to her official website, Villegas was singing while walking down a street and was overheard by a record company intern. Impressed by her vocal ability, he made a videotape of the star’s singing, which eventually landed in her current music manager’s hands. She is currently signed to Sony Music. The star released a concept mixtape named “S(he) Be(Lie)ve(d)” in late September.
Villegas took to youtube to thank her fans for their continued support. She wrote, “Jasminators, i hope u like this video. Thank u for being there for me since i was 11. …i luv u all so much!!”.
