When Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones teamed up with iconic superstars to create the epic “We Are the World Record”, people were able to witness its emphatic effect, as the song was able to draw awareness to Africa’s destitute environment. Now, in 2010, the Latino community will merge together and recreate the magic, as stars like Enrique Iglesias, Gloria Estefan, and Sofia Vergara have decided to team up collectively to record a single benefitting the National Bone Marrow Program.
Every year thousands of people are diagnosed with leukemia, and other devastating diseases. Without having either a bone marrow or cord blood transplant, many unfortunately die. For over 20 years, the National Bone Marrow Program has been fighting hard to help patients find a suitable donor in hopes of freeing them from this agonizing disease.
With the Latinos teaming up together, they hope to raise awareness with the single entitled, “La Gota de la Vida.” The song has already premiered this past week in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theater.
If you’re interested in being a donor, you may visit www.marrow.org in hopes of giving these innocent people a fighting chance.
