Laura Bozzo, the Peruvian host of the Mexican talk show “Laura”, is under scrutiny for addressing one of the guest s on her show as a prostitute.
This latest slip from Bozzo comes just days after she insulted Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. She called the star a “disgusting rat” on television, although she took to twitter later on to apologize for her remark. She wrote in Spanish, “I’m a human being with virtues and defects that makes mistakes because I am impulsive, but I know how to ask for forgiveness.”
An apology, however, isn’t going to get her off the hook for her latest mishap. After having called her guest a “putita” and a “prosti”, the show’s producers received a statement from the Mexican Secretary of State asking that their program respect women’s dignity and modify their laws of conduct. The scandal has also inspired an online movement to get Bozzo fired from the show for her degradation of Mexican women.
There are speculations that the program may be taken off air due to its “violent” nature. If Bozzo can’t play nice and keep her foot out of her mouth, she may soon be saying good bye to her talk show.
