The Latin division of the advocacy organization for animal rights PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is hoping that very popular TV star, Sofia Vergara will pose nude for one of their campaigns, despite the Colombian actress denying the rumors that she would take her clothes for any organization.
“We love Sofia and would gladly work with her. I hope these rumors involving the beginning of a relationship between her and PETA are true,” a spokesman for the organization told the press.
The highest paid actress and Latina on American television stepped out on Twitter last week about rumors that suggested that she would follow the footsteps of other celebrities who posed nude in support of the fight against animal torture.
Vergara has flat out denied the rumors, however she would hardly be the first Latina celebrity to strip for animal rights. PETA has managed to convince Latino celebrities like Eva Mendez, Sofia Sisniega, Rocsi Diaz, Evelyn Lozada, Daniella Alonso and Patricia de Leon to pose in sensual for campaigns against fur.
The Latino PETA also has the support of Ricky Martin, Kate del Castillo, Penelope Cruz and Roselyn Sanchez, according to the organization. If Vergara does in fact pose nude for PETA, she would hardly be the first Latino to strip for animal rights, but she will be the most recognized and possibly one of the most influencial due to her high-celebrity status
PETA is the largest animal rights organization in the world, they run campaigns against wearing animal skins and as well as encourages a vegetarian diet.
