
REPERTORIO ESPAÑOL is pleased to announce the 13 Awards they are to receive this year from the Association of Entertainment Critics of New York (ACE Awards). ACE has been handing out these prestigious awards since 1969, which celebrates the excellence of Hispanic artists. Repertorio Español are honored to receive a total of 13 Awards, five of them for En el Tiempo de las Mariposas (In the Time of the Butterflies), three for Locuras en Wichita (Wild in Wichita), three for Tres obras cortas del Siglo de Oro (Three short plays from The Golden Age of Spain) and two for Delirio Habanero (Havana Delirium). The awards will be given at a ceremony at 8:30pm on Saturday, April 21st at the Kaufman Center located at 129 West 67th Street in Manhattan.
“We are honored to be recognized by this important organization,” states Artistic Director, René Buch. “The ACE’s have recognized the work of the Latino theater movement in New York City for over 40 years. We thank them for their efforts and for helping us to bring awareness to Repertorio’s mission of producing the best theater from Latin America, Spain and plays written by emerging Hispanic American playwrights.”

• Frank Robles – Best Actor, Comedy – Locuras en Wichita (Wild in Wichita)
• Gerardo Gudiño – Best Actor, Classical Theater – Tres obras cortas del Siglo de Oro (Three short plays from The Golden Age of Spain)
• Alicia Pascual Lobo – Best Actress, Classical Theater – Tres obras cortas del Siglo de Oro (Three short plays from The Golden Age of Spain)
• Fermín Suarez – Best Character Actor – En el Tiempo de las Mariposas” (In the Time of the Butterflies)
• Laura de la Uz – Best Visiting Actress – Delirio Habanero (Havana Delirium)
• Mario Guerra – Best Visiting Actor – Delirio Habanero (Havana Delirium)
• Lina Gallegos – Playwriting Award – Locuras en Wichita (Wild in Wichita)
• Andrés Zambrazo – Best Director, Classical Theater – Tres obras cortas del Siglo de Oro (Three short plays from The Golden Age of Spain)
• Robert W Federico – Best Costume Design – En el Tiempo de las Mariposas” (In the Time of the Butterflies)
• Jane Shaw – Best Sound Design – En el Tiempo de las Mariposas” (In the Time of the Butterflies)
The Latin ACE Awards ceremony, held each year in New York without interruption since 1969, is one of the most coveted honors in Latin entertainment, as this prestigious award celebrates the excellence of Hispanic artists in films, television and on the stage, while promoting awareness of the vibrant Latin entertainment scene that for many decades has characterized New York.
