Roselyn Sanchez Announces “Triathlon For Life”

Actress and producer, Roselyn Sanchez appeared at La Concha Hotel where she provided the details for her upcoming second annual “Triathlon For Life” to be held in San Juan on April 30 and May 1, 2011. The annual event continues to partner in support of the San Jorge Children’s Foundation and La Casa Cuna de San Juan charities.

 

The events kick off on Saturday, April 30 at Parque Central with a Children’s Duathlon and a “Walk for Life” for seniors.  The Olympic Triathlon, Sprint and Relay races will all take place on Sunday, May 1 starting at 7: 00 am.

 

The invited celebrity guest list includes Eva Longoria, Amaury Nolasco, Wilmer Valderama, Cristian De La Fuente, Ana De La Reguera, Kate Del Castillo, Cuba Gooding Jr, Tony Danza, “Rampage Jackson” among others.  Expected local celebrities to participate in the race are Raymond Arrieta, singer Divino, Carlos Baerga, Nuria Sebazco, Roberto Arias, Ada Monzón, Saritza Alvarado, Carlos McConnie. Personal trainer Rafael Colon from Triathlon Spot is in charge of training local celebrities to accomplish this great event.

 

“I am grateful for the all support we received for the first inaugural event last year, and I am confident that this year’s will be just as memorable to all participants and volunteers. We have events for everyone, from children to adults! The goal is for all to unite in support of the children in need who will directly benefit from our partner charities” commented the actress.

 

Events will begin on Saturday April 30 at Parque Central with the registration and mandatory talks, the Duathlon for Kids from 4 to 11 years starts at 2:00pm; at 4:30pm initiates ‘Walking for life’ a 3K for senior citizens and at 5:30pm the ‘Pasta Party’ for all participants.

 

On Sunday May 1 the action of the triathlon will start at 7:30am. The Triathlon Olympic and Sprint races are multi-sport events that bring together swimming, cycling and jogging.  The RSTFL is backed by the Triathlon Federation of Puerto Rico. The “Sprint” race offers a shorter distance for each of the three legs and the “Relay for a Child” is for individuals to participate as a team with each person doing a specific leg of the race.  The swimming transition area will be at the Condado Lagoon (Parque Nacional Jaime Benitez); the cycling portion will take place from Ventana al Mar towards old San Juan and the running portion will occur toward the beautiful Ocean Park area.

 

Jeep has again joined forces with RSTFL as one of the main sponsors offering various prizes and awards, including a free Jeep for a year.  Other sponsors are Microsoft, San Juan Municipality, Tourism Department, Walgreens, Coca Cola, San Jorge Children Hospital, Heineken Light, Minute Maid, Super Max, El Nuevo Dia, Univision Radio y Television, among others.
