Once considered an underground phenom, Sensato emerged as a top Latin artist with the 2009 hit “Watagatapitusberry”. The song reached #4 on the Latin Rhythm Charts, as well as the Top 50 Hot Latin Songs and Tropical Airplay.
While most rappers get their start in clubs or on the streets, Sensato del Patio got his start in one of the most unusual places, his church. “ When I was 13, I started singing in church then started rapping at church functions. That’s how I learned how to perform and where I got the name Sensato”, he says. His passion to blend hip hop and Latin music lead him to create several mix tapes which got him notice in the music scene.
His lyrical style eventually caught the attention of Aventura’s Max Santos and asked Sensato to do the El Malo Remix. The video for “El Malo The Remix” recently premiered on MTV3 and mun2.“The concept of the video tells the story of a girl who has a guy who gives her everything she could ever want. But at the end of the day, she is in love with El Malo. It shows that money doesn’t mean everything and love conquers all.”
Sensato del Patio is currently working on his first studio album with the single “Romo” due out soon. His advice to up and coming artist is simple. “Believe in yourself and stay focused. If you believe in yourself then people will believe in you.”
