The multi-talented and exceptionally stylish Jaime Gomez, also known to his band mates and fans as “Taboo” is not just a member of the global chart-topping sensation, The Black Eyed Peas, but also an accomplished dancer, actor, author, shoe designer, philanthropist and quickly becoming a global DJ sensation. His most recent accomplishment is collaborating with Italy’s hottest export, Alex Gaudino for the high energy new single “I Don’t Wanna Dance” which is available for purchase on iTunes here: http://goo.gl/NmYuw.
Alex and Taboo shot a music video for “I Don’t Wanna Dance” in San Paolo, Brazil while both artists were touring. Taboo recently returned from a world tour performing in Dubai, Bangkok, Barcelona, Switzerland, Morocco, Paris, Geneva and more.
Alex comments on the collaboration, “I met Taboo at a festival in Spain where we were both djing. We hit it off immediately and decided we wanted to work together. I sent him a beat and he wrote the verses and got Taio Cruz to write the hook. amazing. I went to his home studio in LA to finalize the track and the atmosphere was magical. It was like we’d known each other all our lives and the creative buzz was awesome”.
Currently working on his debut solo album, Taboo’s music incorporates his love for his Latino roots along side his passion for beat driven dance music with rhythms that get the whole room moving. “I’m working on content right now. I don’t know exactly when it’ll be out. I try to take my time with making a masterpiece, I don’t want to just put something out that’s just like “Oh, we expected that.” So I have been taking my time and I feel like you should be hearing something by late Summer/early Fall,” says Taboo.
Having found acclaimed European success with 2007 and 2008 smash hits “Destination Calabria” and “Watch Out”, Alex Gaudino has rapidly built up a reputation as “One of the most prolific producers in Italy”, or at least those are the words of BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong. Gaudino has rapidly become the chief spokesman for Italian disco and his music reflects all that is fresh and vibrant about house music right now. Still, he is able to inject a savvy and twisted elegance into the aesthetics of being a superstar DJ.
