As the Broncos and the Seahawks begin preparations for what is sure to be another monumental game at Super Bowl XLVIII, Americans will soon stock up for the big game.
Pizza, wings, beer… burgers, hotdogs, more beer… the list is endless. However, there is one particular snack that has become increasingly popular: guacamole.
Guacamole (as many may or may not know) is made from avocados–a beloved food item among the Latino community. It comes as no surprise that the delicious snack has been adopted by American audiences.
According to Nielson, the Super Bowl is the most-viewed show on record among Hispanic Americans, which reached a total audience of 17.7 million Hispanic viewers in last year’s Super Bowl. The annual event is also the highest avocado consumption day of the year, reaching a staggering quantity of about 41 million bowls of guacamole. No matter who you’re rooting for during the game, guacamole is apparently the winning choice.
