I remember a few years ago, someone said reggaeton is a fad, they said; ‘it wont last long’!…well, they were wrong. Today reggaeton Its the fastest growing genre in music and its global, don’t believe me? Numbers don’t lie, check out these stats below, along with the top 10 reggaeton & Latin Trap hits of 2022.

It’s been almost 20 years since Daddy Yankee brought reggaeton to the mainstream with his super hit song Gasolina.
In 2022 Yankee planned to retire with a final tour of 26 shows, but he had a change of mind, after tickets in a Los Angeles show sold out in half an hour.
Then his promoter, Henry Cardenas, started to receive multiple calls from all over, with interested parties in furthering the tour.
What was supposed to be a modest farewell trip turned into one of the biggest tours of the year. In the last five months, the Puerto Rican rapper has performed 86 shows, in 14 countries grossing more than $140 million, making more money than any other tours he did before.
“I feel every year we’re talking about the Latin boom and we’re certainly not going ‘despacito,’” says Hans Schafer, senior vp of global touring at Live Nation. “I’d say this is the best year for Latin because we see it in streaming, in the number of tickets we’re selling, grosses in those shows and it’s not only Bad Bunny.”
While Daddy Yankee recorded the first reggaeton hit to cross over outside of the Spanish-speaking world, Bad Bunny has set new records and has raised the bar higher.
Selling more than two million tickets at his concerts worldwide and his US tour grossed $356.5 million with his global tour grossing $393.3 million.
This has set a new record, numbers don’t lie, and Bad Bunny numbers speaks volumes on the current state of this genre of Latin music and how much its grown.
One can only imagine, what the future has in store, especially as new artist from Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Colombia and other Latin countries are motivated in seeing this global acceptance and growth of Latin music and its artist.
This motivation will be a driving factor in the new artist to come, which will be tomorrow stars. So, to those out there that said or thought Reggaeton or Latin trap is just a fad, think again. And now, here is our selection of the top 10 Reggaeton & Latin Trap hit songs of 2022.
