After earning his first Best Actor nomination for his role in Biutiful, has
Javier Bardem already snagged a little man? Well, apparently yes and no.
According to reports, Bardem and his wife actress Penelope Cruz welcomed their
first child, a baby boy, last Saturday at Cedars Sinai Hospital in L.A. Cruz’s
mother, sisters, and brothers were reported to have been with Cruz and Bardem
during the birth. However, neither celebrities’ parents nor representatives have
confirmed whether Cruz & Bardem are new parents.
The two met while filming a drama Jamon Jamon (1992) and recently filmed Vicky
Cristina Barcelona (2008) together which was written and directed by Woody
Allen. Bardem, 41, and Cruz, 36, announced their pregnancy and acknowledging a
private marriage back in July. Their pregnancy became public when back in
September when Cruz was captured by paparazzi supporting a baby bump while in
Puerto Rico filming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The newborn’s
name has yet to be released, but could be a sign of more good things to come for
Bardem…maybe even a golden statue on February 27th to go hand-in-hand with
becoming a father.
