Continuing its commitment to Latin mashup music and forward thinking music makers, Heineken is expanding its MezclaSonic DJ program through a partnership with “Reggaeton mixtape sensation” DJ Willie (William Concepcion). The Heineken MezclaSonic program showcases the Latin mashup movement and celebrates the DJs behind it. DJ Willie, who has risen to be a leading Latino force in the popular mixtape scene, will headline Heineken MezclaSonic along with groundbreaking Latin mashup DJs D’marquesina, Nacotheque and the Mexican Institute of Sound.
“I am very excited to be joining the Heineken MezclaSonic line-up of DJs. MezclaSonic provides me with a platform to share my passion for the underground Latin mashup/mixtape movement,” said DJ Willie. “I look forward to bringing my music creations to a new audience through this program.”
A native of New Jersey of Dominican descent, DJ Willie has performed all over the US, including Las Vegas, Miami, Los Angeles, Boston and New York, as well as international locations such as China, Canada, Mexico and parts of South America. In addition, DJ Willie’s work has been recognized with multiple industry awards including the Justo #1 Reggaeton Mixtape DJ Award and was one of this year’s nominees for a LatinMixx Award in the Best East Coast DJ category.
