Whether you’re traveling to the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Brazil, or any other part of Latin America, if you’re traveling with children, there are a few things to take into consideration. For starters, you should consider your children’s interests (what’s going to keep them engaged), but this doesn’t mean settling for a dull getaway. Not at all. Here are a few ways to keep things interesting while traveling with your family:
Choose a resort (or hotel) that is family friendly. Some will include child care and/ or a playroom for your children.
As opposed to planning trips to museums and churches to view art and architecture, choose a more interactive experience. Take your children to a playground or a zoo! Some locations even have aquariums nearby. You’ll get to explore as well. Nothing dull about that.
Learn foreign phrases. Doing so will make it easier to communicate any of your children’s needs. The less stressed you all are, the more you’ll enjoy your vacation.
Take precaution. One of the greatest challenges of traveling with children is realizing that anything and everything can be a distraction for them. Create a distinct family noise or dress them in bright attire. Make it a point to stick together and warn them against strangers and suspicious activities. A safe vacation is a great vacation.
Have you traveled with your children before? If so, how did you plan ahead?
