Javier Bardem won his sixth Goya Cinema Award this past Sunday which was held at the Centro de Congresos Principe Felipe in Madrid, Spain. The 43-year-old Skyfall actor won for his work as producer for best documentary for “Sons of the clouds, the last colony.” The film examines the status of Western Sahara, a former Spanish colony in northern Africa and presently territory of Morocco. The colonization has left nearly nearly 200,000 Sahrawi living in refugee camps. “Sahara free!” Bardem said after receiving the award. Bardem was joined on the red carpet by director Alvaro Longoria and producer Lilly Hartley, his wife Penelope Cruz‘s who is expecting their second child. Bravo Javier!
