Jennifer Lopez was officially appointed chief creative officer for NUVOtv, a network for English-speaking Latinos founded in 2004 and reaches an estimated 31 million homes nationwide. “It is still almost impossible to find Latinos accurately portrayed in the media.” Lopez added, “Now, I’m fortunate enough to be in the position to do something about it.”
New shows being launched on the network include Mario Lopez: One on One, where the famous host gets to sit down for an intimate chat with fellow celebrities, "Gotta Dance," a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of professional dancers accompanying Lopez on a world concert tour and Rodney's Joy," a reality show about Grammy Award-winning producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins as he takes on a new client – his wife, Joy Enriquez.
“My partnership with NUVO TV is grounded on my unwavering belief that the time for change is now. Latinos are a force in this country,” she added, “Our mission is to delivery quality content that is culturally relevant to the modern day Latino. This means that the days of inaccurate stereotypes are over. We know we have a long road ahead, but we are off to a great start.”
