Juanes made a special appearance in New York last week at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York’s Times Square to announce his partnership with Hardrock International in a special “artist spotlight merchandise” event.
The purpose was to raise funds for “Mi Sangre”, a foundation founded by Juanes that now stretches to four cities. A video presentation shown earlier showed what his foundation does. But the horror stories of children being chainsawed, shot, injured by land mines, and other methods of violence is one that highlighted the need to protect children in Columbia.”
“The foundation protects childrenās rights, promotes peace and social change, and reinforces responsibility for oneās community,ā
Juanes emotionally reinforced.
Juanes had on display some items that he donated to add to the collection process including pants he wore in his 2006 Mi Sangre tour and a jacket he appeared in for his MTV Unplugged in 2012. In addition a limited edition T-shirt in blue for men and pink for women with the hard rock logo is available for $65 dollars and a pin with signed acoustic guitar for $12. The foundation will receive 15% of all sales.
Juanes, as a respected World Icon and known supporter of human causes at home and worldwide, is well documented. In person, he is as human in his interactions, something rare for a celebrity. Hard Rock, in recognition donated a 100,000 check to the foundation.
āHard Rockās Artist Spotlight program gives me the perfect platform to continue to spread Fundación Mi Sangreās message of peace,ā
Juanes added.
You can be sure of one thing with Juanes. The money gets used right and at least one country can see the benefits to their children which is the future.
