Following Hurricane Sandy, New York City is recovering thanks to the volunteerism of first responders and the National Guard. Such heroism is a positive sign in the midst of Sandy’s aftermath. NYPD, Firefighters and EMS have responded to New York City’s needs and in some cases have neglected their own personal needs related to homes and families of their own, who have been adversely affected by Sandy themselves. And in rare cases, they have continued working instead of grieving for lost family members.
To recognize such civic leadership and also keep in mind all those who are still being affected by Sandy’s aftermath, the NY Knicks will be giving them tribute via the opening ceremony in their honor on Friday, November 9th in the renowned arena at the Madison Square Garden. JW Cortes has been selected and has graciously agreed to participate in honoring New Yorkers affected by Sandy. He will be singing our country’s National Anthem proudly during this auspicious opening ceremony. This will be an emotional moment that can be shared by all who will watch the MSG Network at 7:30pm ET tomorrow. Please support this milestone moment at MSG live or on the MSG Network.
