
We are just a few days away from the XIII Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards which is scheduled to take place on Nov. 15 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and will be broadcast live on the Univision Network from 8 – 11 p.m. ET. The following is a list of some of the nominees for the evening. Juan Luis Guerra is nominated for six awards and Jesse & Joy are up for five. Up for four awards: Ricardo Arjona, Edgar Barrera, Juanes, Carla Morrison, Arturo Sandoval, Ivette Sangalo and 2012 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year Caetano Veloso. Up for three awards: Chico Buarque, ChocQuibTown, Don Omar, Rafael Dragaud, Gregg Field Javier Garza, Gilberto Gil, Ulises Hadjis, Roberto Talma and Martin Terefe. According to President/CEO of the Latin Recording Academy Gabriel Abaroa Jr., the Latin Grammy nominations continue to highlight a varied and wide-ranging group of Latin musicians that reflect emerging talent as well as artists who have already established themselves. “It is always encouraging to see creative professionals across the worldwide Latin music community acknowledging their peers and recognizing excellence in recorded Latin music,” Abaroa said. “We look forward to another year of celebrating the best and brightest in Latin music, and to presenting another stellar telecast.” The artists will be nominated in 47 categories in 18 fields where each of the four categories in the General Field (Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, and Best New Artist) now include 10 nominations. The three categories in the Pop Field (Best Female Pop Vocal Album, Best Male Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Album By A Duo Or Group With Vocal) are now combined into two categories: Best Contemporary Pop Vocal Album and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. Best Pop/Rock Album has been added in the Rock Field and Best Tropical Fusion Album has been added to the Tropical Field. The night’s performers include Sergio Dalma, Lila Downs (with Totó La Momposina and Celso Piña), Jesse & Joy, Victor Manuelle, Gerardo Ortiz, Pitbull, Michel Teló, David Bisbal, Shaila Dúrcal (along with Mariachi Divas De Cindy Shea), Kany García, Juanes, Prince Royce, Joan Sebastian and 3BallMTY.
