Magic Mike XXL: The perfect excuse to go to the movie date with your girls

Magic Mike is back in a larger way than its first in 2012. On Monday, June 29th, I went to see movie screening of its sequel, Magic Mike XXL, and let me tell you one thing: the first sexy dance of the movie – by super hot lead “Mike” played by Channing Tatum – makes buying a movie ticket with all your hard earned money all worth it.

A cool movie fact is that even though the characters are purely fictional, some of the elements and atmosphere of “Mike’s” world are inspired by Tatum’s own experiences from his early days as a dancer (who himself visited a stripper convention back in the day).

The movie picks up the story three years after “Mike” bowed out of the stripper life, “Magic Mike XXL” finds the remaining Kings of Tampa ready to throw in the towel, but they want to do it in a big way. The last performance in Myrtle Beach, a male entertainment convention reunite after three years, is fresh air and actually very adorable to watch.

Just like Miranda, Carrie, Charlotte and Samantha’s dynamics in Sex & the City are both touching and entertaining to watch, “Magic Mike XXL” does a good job playing up the individual personalities of its main characters, the male entertainers: Mike, “Big Dick Richie,” Ken, the Latin sensation Tito, the wild-man Tarzan, and the MC, Tobias.

Just like NYC and fashion make up the 5th & 6th characters of Sex & the City, sensual dancing and hot male bodies are for “Magic Mike XXL.”
