Three-time felon, one-time Tony Award winner, Lemon Andersen is an acclaimed poet who broke out on Broadway in Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry Jam. But Lemon has landed back in the projects, living with thirteen family members and desperate for a way out. He turns to the only things he has left, his pen and his story. This award-winning film follows his efforts to stage a comeback at New York’s Public Theater as he battles demons from his past. Cinema Libre Studio has acquired all North American rights, outside of broadcast. The film will be showcased in major US cities with special event-based theatrical screenings and released on DVD and VOD platforms October 16, 2012 with a broadcast premiere on PBS as part of Latino Public Broadcasting’s arts and culture series VOCES on Friday October 19, 2012 in conjunction with Hispanic Heritage Month.
