There was a time when I thought things will most certainly go my way. But,
I’ve learned the hard way that things don’t always work out the way you want
them to.
First of all, not everyone supports your vision or the idea of yourself
wanting to become a better version of yourself. It’s really up to you not
to necessarily spend your energy convincing the naysayers, but to continue
to be true to yourself.
Everyday I wake up and I call it first. “Today, I will be a great day!.”
Most of the time I do have a great day, but sometimes, hum, life has a funny
way of throwing you a couple of arrows. I usually take it in stride because
I know who I am. But for some of us who are often targeted, I must say,
keeping a smile on your face ain’t always easy.
So what do we do when the day doesn’t go our way. Do we go with the flow?
Nope! We keep a positive attitude! Yes, I really believe it’s the only way
to combat the negative energy that some people choose to throw our way. If
you go the “other” route, you will suffer and your day will be ruined.
Now, do you want to take back the attitude you woke up with or continue your
day enveloped with the negativity some souls possess? How are you supposed
to get ahead in life. Really?
A negative attitude is contagious. I’ve caught it a couple of times, but as
I continued to live my life in a positive direction, I realized that YOU
possess the power not to be infected! The power to heal yourself from this
awful disease resides in you.
When I first started singing, there was a time when I couldn’t get any
studio time because “it is completely booked”, they’d say. How was I
supposed to record my songs, I had such great ideas on the music and the way
I wanted to sound. But, for the life of me, I couldn’t get someone to
believe in me…
I’ve always had a full-time job and sometimes it’s hard to channel
inspiration with so much going on at work. So, I would get inspired and get
these ideas and want to reflect them in my songwriting and in the studio.
My vision was to have a finished, successful product. I’ve always had my
own goals and have kept a positive attitude all along.
But sometimes, I have to take breaks just to keep a positive attitude. I
would have to get up the next morning and continue requesting and find
alternative sources for studio time. And I did! Why? Because if I had a
negative attitude, nothing would get done!
When something doesn’t go your way, don’t let a bad attitude get you down.
You can get that joy given to you my the divine back. The idea is to tap
into it. Always remind yourself that you are beautiful and break out the
list of your accomplishments and goals. I am not saying everyone will
support you, but support begins with you.
My acupuncturist says “it’s all energy, it doesn’t last long.” And you know
what, it never does!!
Here’s a couple of tips to help you move forward:
– Assess the Situation. Take deep breaths, ground yourself
– Speak your mind, positively
– Think positive thoughts and let it go!! Remind yourself of your vision,
goals, and aspirations
– YOU harness the power to turn negative energy into positive energy!
– Be true to yourself by realizing that a negative attitude is only
temporary.
– Surround yourself with positive people
– Move forward!
Don’t let a bad attitude keep you from gaining momentum in life. You can do
it!!
