The lead singer of Calle 13, Rene Perez, took a cell phone to the face at a concert in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. It was not, however, an act of malice.
According to reports, a fan threw the cell phone at the singer so that he could autograph it. The star, unfortunately, was unable to catch the cell phone and got hit in the face instead. The accident was taken as aggression at the moment and security proceeded to remove the man from the stadium.
Perez did not express any resentment toward the fan. Instead, he took the entire incident with good humor and grace. He tweeted in Spanish, “For the future, if you want me to sign something, wait until I’m looking and expecting it before throwing it. Security could misinterpret it.”
It is reported that extra security measures were taken for the reggaeton group’s concert on Saturday in La Paz. Hopefully no fans at the concert wanted their laptop autographed!
