According to Abraham Quintanilla, the late Mexican singer’s father, Selena had recorded 50 unedited songs. The songs date back to Selena’s teen years and were recorded before she became a world sensation. Quintanilla wants to “rejuvenate their sound [and] bring them up to date”. Reportedly, Selena’s brother A. B. Quintanilla will oversee the project. The plan is to spread the music across five CDs. The first CD should appear in early 2012.
