Colombian singer Shakira won 4 awards at Premio Lo Nuestro, Univision’s annual awards ceremony held in Miami at the American Airlines Arena and spanning 34 categories highlighting the best Spanish-language music and artists. The awards picked up by Shakira included Album of the Year, Pop Album of the Year (Sale el Sol), Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for her hit single, “Rabiosa”.
Shakira was one of the most recognized artists of the evening, her award for Artist of the Year being chosen by the television audience themselves through an online vote. This distinction was awarded at the end of the night, closing the ceremony. With these 4 awards, Shakira now holds an astounding 23 awards in this particular competition, one of the most important in the US Hispanic community.
